I am a celebrity too and will join ‘Dumsor’ vigil – Sir John

The immediate past General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, also known as Sir John has revealed that he would be attending the May 16 Dumsor vigil to be held in Accra.

The reason, Sir John in an interview with Adom News is because he is a ‘celebrity from Wonoo’ and hence would be there to voice the sentiments of the inhabitants of the Kwabre East town.

“I’m a celebrity at Wonoo and I will go to represent the entire township of Sakara Wonoo at the vigil…,” Sir John said.

Led by celebrities Sarkodie, Yvonne Nelson and Lydia Forson, the vigil which has been the talking point in Ghana of late is to protest the Government’s failure to address the four year power crisis.

After settling on the venue for the vigil and the traditional area with control over the lands, the celebrities say all is set for the vigil.

They maintain that the vigil is apolitical and hence have called on participants to arrive at the location dressed in red or black and armed with locally manufactured lanterns, bobo (lamps) and candles
