Hearts of Oak plan to wear black armbands in their game against Esperance to honour the memory of legendary Ghanaian coach Jones Attuquayefio.
Attuquayefio, 70, passed away early Tuesday morning after losing his eight-year battle with cancer.
The former Ghana international is most remembered for leading Hearts of Oak to continental success in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup in 2000 and 2004 respectively.
Attuquayefio led Hearts to beat Esperance in both legs to clinch the CAF Champions League final in 2000.
The Phobians will be making a request to the match officials to wear black armbands for their first leg CAF Confederation Cup tie against Esperance on Sunday in Tunis.
A request to also observe a minute silence will also be made by the Ghanaian giants ahead of Sunday’s clash against Esperance.
