Ghanaian winger Eric Frimpong scored and provided assists for Bayelsa United to beat city rivals, Nembe City 3-0 in the Federation Cup Round 64 tie.
The other scorers for Bayelsa were Jafaru Buhari and Oghogho Oduokpe.
“The entire team played well and deserve victory for dedication to duty as qualification for the next round has been achieved, so we now have to turn attention to the league to boost our fortunes,” Frimpong told supersport.com.
Frimpong was in the Niger Tornadoes side that won bronze in the defunct Coca-Cola FA Cup in 2006.
