Clubs to use all registered players for Elite Cup group stage

The Elite Clubs Cup Committee has announced that clubs can use all their registered players from the group stage of the competition.

Clubs were previously made to submit a list of 35 players in the knock out stage of the novelty competition but they have now been allowed to use their full squad.

The competition enters into its group stage on Sunday May 17 with the sixteen clubs who have made it into this stage drawn into four groups made up of four teams each.

The teams will be playing against each other on a home and away basis with three points awarded for a win and one point for a drawn game.

The head to head rule in the GFA Regulations shall be applied in determining the winner of each group.

Five matches will be played on Sunday with Ashgold taking on Dunkwa United on Wednesday while Medeama also host Dwarfs on the same day.

The match between Hearts of Oak and Elmina Sharks has been scheduled for a later date as the Phobians are set to face Esperance in their CAF Confederation Cup match on Sunday.
