Fired up: Schlupp lauds Leicester City fighting spirit

Ghana left back Jeffrey Schlupp has praised his Leivcester City teammates following another key victory last weekend as the Foxes put Southampton to the sword two nil.

The defender-cum-midfielder is fully focused on the fact that the team remained highly together as he felt that was a key reason why we had started turning the small margins in our favour in our run of six wins from seven games.

‘It is six wins out of seven now and it has come at a crucial time, so the boys are buzzing. When we were in the situation we were in, being at the bottom for so long, it just brought everyone together you know. We knew what was at stake. We definitely want to stay in the Premier League, everyone does, but it really kicked in that we needed to get the results to give us the chance. I think we have done that very well.’

With goals spread around the team in recent times as well Schlupp went on to say it doesn’t matter who scores at the minute as long as somebody is, but it’s always nice when you aren’t just relying on one or two players to find the net but what’s also important is we picked up another clean sheet against Southampton and that makes four from six on that score and that’s massive to our chances of winning matches.

‘It is always nice to see a few other players apart from the strikers chipping in with a few goals. They have been crucial ones as well. We have also got four clean sheets from the six games so that is another big positive. We have to concentrate on our games really. As long we do that then we will be fine. We have to worry about ourselves and we will be okay.’
