Three more arrested in murder of two African Americans

Three more people have been arrested in connection with the murders of two African Americans domiciled in Ghana.

The three – one female and two males- were arrested Friday, bringing to five the total number of persons arrested in connection with the murders.

The deceased persons, Mamelina Diop, 75 and Nzinga Janna, 69, were found in a shallow grave after they were reported to have gone missing several days earlier.

The murders took place in the disputed community within the Akwamu Traditional Area in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

Police have declined comments on the latest arrests explaining that comments may jeopardize investigations into the murder.

Two persons, Obiri Yeboah, 49 and Anokye Frimpong, 24, were arrested on Wednesday after the police had exhumed the mutilated bodies of the two women, which were buried in an unmarked shallow grave at Fihankra.

The two suspects are in the custody of the Akosombo police helping with investigations.
