Salesgirl In Court For Misappropriating N262,000

A 24-year-old salesgirl, Victoria Abah, was today arraigned in a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, for alleged criminal misappropriation of N262,000 realised from sales of sweets and biscuits from the shop where she works at Garki International Market.

Abah, who resides in Masaka, Nasarawa State, is standing trial on a two-count charge of breach of trust and criminal misappropriation following report by one Mrs Olusolo Agbochi the matter at the Garki Police Station on April 29. The accused pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Shedrack Dauda told the court that the accused is the complainant’s salesgirl, while the money was realised from the sales of biscuits and sweets.

According to him, the accused was supposed to remit the sales money to the complainant, but she converted the money to her personal use.

According to him, the offences contravene Sections 312 and 309 of the Penal Code.

The Judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko granted the accused bail in the sum of N300, 000 with a reliable in like sum and adjourned the case till June 8 for hearing.
