Unwarranted claims: Fred Pappoe: Hearts fans acted irresponsibly towards Nyantakyi

Fred Pappoe has lashed out at the supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak for attacking the President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi during Hearts’ 0-1 home loss to Djoliba on Sunday in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Hearts of Oak’s petition to the Premier League Board for a postponement of their mid-week league game last week against Ashgold prior to their tie against Djoliba was thrown out and the supporters who were not happy with the loss attributed it to fatigue because the team played 3 games in 10 days, hence descended their anger on the GFA boss.

Fred Pappoe has criticized Hearts of Oak fans that their attitude towards Kwesi Nyantakyi was uncalled for.

‘It is unfair and rather irresponsible on the part of Hearts fans to attack Kwesi Nyantakyi,’ he told Fox fm.

‘The excuse given by the fans for the attack was frivolous, because it is not Kwesi Nyantakri, nor the Executive Committee that organizes the league, but rather the PLB and it is made up of representatives from all the 16 league clubs.

‘So if their representative couldn’t persuade the other member to buy into their petition. They shouldn’t blame anybody for that. It is about time we understood democratic process’.
