Golden Pride Savings and Loans Limited has partnered HFC Bank to offer electronic banking services to their customers.

The partnership will enable customers of both financial institutions to utilize the over 47 ATMs of HFC Bank across the country.

Prince William Ankrah, Board Chairman of the company, who was speaking at the launch, said the establishment of E-Banking would enable Golden Pride to fulfill its corporate mission of bringing banking to the doorsteps of customers.

‘We shall continue to be guided by the needs and aspirations of the banking and non-banking communities to create sustainable value for all. Our motivation is to be with the best, that is the market leaders and possibly beat the competition on permanent basis to ultimately become the preferred banking partner in Ghana,’ he said.

Johnson Boadi Asamoah, Managing Director of Golden Pride, who underscored the importance of electronic banking, said the new financial environment required differentiating products and services that provide increased choices, control security and accessibility.

He said the company’s e-bouquet of products includes Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), SMS Alerts and Mobile Money Transfers with telecommunication giants like the MTN and Airtel.

Mr Boadi Asamoah said Golden Pride was ready to innovate to reach potentially new markets and consumers, adding that the company intends to open another branch in Kumasi this month.

He said the company as of December 2014 had mobilized a total of GHยข58 million as deposits which he described as unprecedented in the financial sector in Ghana.

Kofi Asamoah, Secretary General of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC), who commended Golden Pride for the initiative, stated that the unions were taking steps to not only directly contribute to the growth of the country’s economy, but take over the commanding heights of the country’s economy.

Charles Bonsu, General Manager of HFC Bank, providers of the E-Banking platform, said the bank is extremely excited to partner Golden Pride Savings and Loans to offer quality services to its customers.

This, he said, affords customers of the two banks the opportunity to share their facilities because after the launch, customers of both institutions would have the opportunity to use their cards in all ATMs across the country.

The Golden Pride Savings and Loans Limited was launched two years ago by the Ghana Mine Workers Union.
