Assembly takes steps to tackle bad feeder roads

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), May 6, GNA – The Amansie-West District Assembly has taken steps to tackle the poor feeder roads in the area to boost agricultural production and improve the economic situation of the people.

Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu, the District Chief Executive (DCE), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that from its share of the Common Fund and funds generated internally, the assembly has started putting into good shape some roads in bad condition.

These include the Manso-Atwere-Adonkunama, Abore-Krofrom, Agyagyakrom-Adubia, Antoakrom-Ahwerewa, Adubia-Datano and Moseaso-Nweneso roads.

He expressed worry about the poor nature of roads in the district and said it was a major hurdle that must be tackled to open up the area for investment.

He said every effort would be made to ensure the smooth evacuation of farm produce to the marketing centres and also help the people to travel in comfort and safety.

Mr. Bonsu said education and health were the other priority areas receiving the necessary attention.

Already, it had built eight unit teachers’ quarters and dormitory blocks for the Esaase-Bontefufuo Senior High School (SHS).

He said the assembly was also refurbishing the Children’s Ward and constructing washrooms for the Manso-Nkwanta Health Centre.
