Robbers Raid Two Churches At Suhum


Unidentified armed robbers on two different days broke into the offices of two churches, namely, the Assemblies of God Church and the Emmanuel Presby Church, both in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region, and took away their musical instruments, laptops, projectors and an amount of GHยข1000.

At the Assemblies of God church, reports indicated that the thieves broke into the church auditorium and the pastor’s office last Saturday evening at 12pm when the lights were off in the area and took away two guitars, keyboards, a projector, mega phones, an organ, a set of brass band, speakers and an amount of GHยข1000.

At the Emmanuel Presby Church, the thieves managed to break into the pastor’s office Saturday dawn at 4am and took away one laptop, a projector, collection bowls and religious books.

The thieves also broke open the pastor’s desk drawer in search of money, but found none.

Confirming the incidents to DAILY GUIDE, Superintendent Yahaya Muchiraru, the Suhum Police Commander, stated that the two incidents happened on two separate days last week and that his outfit had received the complaints.

According to the Suhum police chief, police have commenced investigations into the case to cause the arrest of the thieves.

Supt Yahaya Muchiraru stated that his outfit had ordered the police patrol team to pay frequent visits to the premises of the churches to forestall the recurrence of such criminal acts.
