Difficult task: Esperance will be tough to beat – Thomas Abbey

Hearts of Oak winger, Thomas Abbey says their Confederation Cup final preliminary round against Tunisian giant Esperance will be a tough game for the Phobians but believes that the playing body has no excuse than qualify to the Money Zone.

Hearts of Oak were drawn against Esperance of Tunis in Tuesday’s draw held at the CAF’s head quarters in Cairo. The two teams will be meeting for the first time since 2000 when the Ghanaian side beat the Tunis based club to win the CAF Champions league.

After the draw, Thomas Abbey in an exclusive interview with Allsports.com.gh admitted that Esperance will be a tough side but the playing body doesn’t have any excuse than to beat the Tunisian giant to seal a group stage qualification.

‘Esperance will be a tough side but we the players don’t have any excuse than to beat them to qualify to the money zone.

‘Hearts of Oak have played and beatEN them before so we must work hard to beat them because we have enough quality to do so and base on our season target we must be in the group stage’.

The first leg between Esperance and Hearts of Oak will be played in three weeks time in Tunis.
