Obuasi, May 4, GNA – Four subsidiary companies working for AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine engaged in a football competition to mark the May Day celebration in the Obuasi municipality.
They are P2W, a water treatment company, Kenzard, a fencing and construction company, Klevstar, a mining construction and engineering suppliers and AMPCOR Projects, an electrical company.
In the opening match, AMPCOR Projects, the host company thrashed P2W 2 -0 while Klevstar also recorded a thin one – zero win over Kenzard.
Kenzard improved their game in a third place encounter with P2W in which they convincingly beat them 4-2.
The final match between AMPCOR Projects and Klevstar was highly entertaining as both teams produced beautiful football to end the duel barren after regulation time. In the penalty kicks, Klevstar won by 5-4 to emerge champions in the maiden competition.
Ms Afua Kyekye Mensah, the Administrative Manager of the host company in a short address commended the companies for their deep involvement in the competition which she hoped would help build a healthy working relation among themselves.
Emmanuel Owusu, the captain of victorious Klevstar thanked the organizers of the competition which he described as entertaining and praised AMPCOR for qualifying.
