A durbar of management and staff of leading security firm, Edern Security Services, has been held at the company’s headquarters in Achimota Accra.
Held on May Day, it was to celebrate the hardworking security staff of the company who for years have contributed to Edern’s claim to fame as the country’s most preferred private security company.
The event, which had members of its board in attendance as well as some distinguished personalities from the Ghana Police Service, also had a core of the administrative staff take part.
Awards were given to deserving workers, who put up an exceptional show of dedication to work during the year under review.
Certificates were also given to participants of a specially-organized Counter Terrorism training programme put together by the company late last year.
The overall best worker award went to John Hagan, a driver with the company. A special citation accompanying his award praised his valour to the company’s growth. An elated Hagan said “this will go a long way to encourage my other colleagues.”
Award winners received plaques and cash.
Addressing the durbar, DCOP Rev. David Ampah Bennin of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service implored the workers to uphold and defend the integrity of the work they do, as that was the only way they would progress in their chosen career.
His points were reechoed by Chairperson of the Board Mrs. Florence Hutchful, who also added that it was important for them to exhibit decency at all times.
Managing Director of Edern Security Services, Paul Quartey, underscored the importance of the durbar, adding the company values the contribution of its staff towards its continuous growth.
Edern he said will continue to be the leader in the private security business in Ghana.
Chief Supt. Amartey, Director of Operations, Ghana Police Service, and Anthony Namooa, Secretary to the board were also in attendance.
