AC Djoliba head trainer, Ivan Mannaert says they were better than Hearts of Oak in their second leg fixture in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation cup on Sunday at the Accra sports stadium.
Djoliba beat Hearts of Oak 1-0 in the reverse fixture, thanks to Malick Berthe 87th minute header but the Bamako based club failed to qualify to the next stage of the competition after losing 1-2 at home fortnight ago.
However, the head coach of Djoliba, Ivan Mannaert in a post-match interview says his lads played better than Hearts of Oak which they should have qualified.
‘We were better than Hearts of Oak on the day which we should qualify but in football you can’t say more.
‘We played very well and created chances that we should have scored more than one goal’.
Going forward Ivan Mannaert says it will be 50-50 for Hearts of Oak to progress to the Group face of the Confederation cup.
‘It will be 50-50 for Hearts of Oak to be in the Group stage depending on their next opponent, but it will be difficult for Hearts of Oak going into their next game’.
