Three Jail Breakers Re-Arrested

DAILY GUIDE has gathered that three inmates of Hiawa Prisons in Amenfi Central, Western Region, who allegedly broke jail, had been re-arrested.

The paper learnt that the three were allegedly hiding around Tarkwa Bremang, near Hiawa.

According to sources, the inmates were rearrested by some town folks at Tarkwa Bremang in the Prestea Huni Valley District of the region.

The residents later handed them over to the prison authorities after the alleged jail breakers had confessed that they took the action.

The paper learnt that the three were doing small scale mining for some money to enable them escape from the area.

It was also learnt that one of the jail breakers stole diesel and was apprehended by the people.

He allegedly revealed to the people that he was an inmate at the Hiawa Prisons when he was nearly lynched by the residents.

Commander in-charge of the prisons, one CSP Gbadre Cephas, did not pick calls from DAILY GUIDE.

However, a resident in the area, Kweku Boahen, confirmed the story of the rearresting of the three.

Mr Boahen, operator of the areaโ€™s information centre, claimed he was part of those who rearrested the alleged jail breakers.

According to him, the three were hiding at Tarkwa.
