Gov. Dakingari Loses Bid To Represent Kebbi North In Senate, As APC Candidate Wins

Saidu DakingariGovernor Sa’idu Dakingari of Kebbi State has lost his bid to go to the senate.

In the political Tsunami that has swept across the northern states, Mr. Dakingari was defeated by the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Bello Argungu, who polled 139,197 votes.

Mr. Dakingari got 70,148 votes.

Also, a serving member on the platform of PDP representing Kalgo/Bunza/Birnin Kebbi federal constituency of Kebbi, Sani Kalgo, lost to APC candidate, Abdullahi Muslim, who polled 101,869. Mr. Kalgo got 24,382 votes.

Another serving member representing Zuru/Fakai/Sakaba/Danko-Wasagu federal constituency, Abdullahi Dan’Alkali, a member of the PDP, also lost to Aliyu Danladi of the APC.

The returning officer, Abdullahi Kangiwa, declared Mr. Danladi winner with 66,261 votes, against Mr. Dan’Alkali’s 28,674.

The result of the Kebbi South senatorial zone was still being awaited as of the time of compiling this report. However, the APC, whose flag bearer in the zone is Bala Ibn Na’Allah, was leading and is also likely to defeat Sadiq Yalwa of the PDP.

In Kebbi Central senatorial district, a former Governor of the State, Adamu Aliero, of the APC, was declared winner of the election.

Aliero won the polls with 216,084 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Malam, who got 68, 792 votes.
