‘I’m not bothered by being snubbed by Avram Grant’- Fiamenyo

Hearts of Oak forward Gilbert Fiamenyo is not worried by not getting a place in the Black Stars.

Avram Grant must have noticed the good form of the bulky striker – eight goals in 11 games is hard to ignore.

But with the raging debate on getting a Black Stars quota for local players ongoing, the Phobian is focused on doing his job.

“If players do well in the local league, they usually get to play in friendly matches but I do not have that chance,” he said.

“If the opportunities come, I will take them and play for the national team. Any player wants to play for his country and I am no different.

“I am waiting for the call-up but in the meantime, I will work hard in expectation of the next invitation. I am not worried about what has already happened.”

Ghana play Senegal on Saturday in France and Mali on Tuesday, also in the same country.

In meantime, Gilbert will be featuring for Hearts against Inter Allies on Sunday.
