Gomoa East DCE Is Dead


Information reaching Daily Guide as at Thursday had it that the District Chief executive (DCE) for Gomoa east in the Central Region, Isaac Kingsley Ehun-Armah, who resigned from his position about a week ago, had died.

The DCe, it was gathered, died at the Central Regional hospital.

This brings to two, the number of DCEs who have died in the region within a period of six weeks. The effutu Municipal Chief executive had died earlier due to ill health.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that Mr Ehun-Armah had been hospitalized for some days now.

The DCE had upon the advice of some gurus of the national Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as some prominent chiefs in the area, tendered his resignation letter to the regional minister, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, on grounds of ill health.

Mr ehun-armah has not been feeling well for some time now and had been seeking medical attention frequently at the hospital.

The deceased, who died at the age of 72, left behind four children and a wife.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that the constituency executives of the NDC, the regional executives of the party, the regional minster, and his deputy, Madam Queenstar Pokuah sawyer and all the 23 district, municipal and metropolitan chief executives in the region would meet members of the bereaved family this afternoon to console them.

In an interview, the constituency chairman of the party, Peter Kojo essel, said the party received the news of the death of the DCE with shock, though they knew he had been sick for sometime now.

The chairman stated that the late DCe served the party in various capacities before being nominated and confirmed as DCe in 2009 and re- nominated again in 2013 by President John Dramani Mahama, adding he worked for the party to win both the Gomoa east and Central seats for the party and therefore expressed his condolence to the family and the people in the region as a whole.
