In a bid to get Kotoko fans to watch the team at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, managers of Kotoko have launched a campaign, appealing to the supporters to be at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium anytime the team plays there.
General Manager, Opoku Nti, who announced this on Thursday said there was the need to get the Baba Yara Sports Stadium filled to capacity especially at the time that team was getting better. He stated that, Coach David Duncan and the players were working hard to positively change the fate of Kotoko this season, adding that they needed everybody’s support.
‘We are asking for this because of how important it is to the club’s forward march. When supporters turn up at the stadium, what they pay at the gates are used to run the club. Their presence boost the morale of the team to play well and win’ Opoku Nti told the club’s website.
Communications Manager, Kwaku Ahenkorah who is spearheading the campaign to get the Baba Yara Stadium filled at all at times reechoed management’s objective. ‘There’s no doubt that after the appointment of Coach Duncan, things are changing. A fresh, new wind has been blowing. We want our fans to be part of the new developments’ Ahenkorah added.
‘One of the surest ways of supporting the club is coming to the stadium’ he added. Since Duncan’s appointment, Kotoko have played three competitive matches under the coach’s supervision. The first was the difficult away game against Algeria’s MC El Eulma in the CAF Champions League, which ended 0-0 followed by the match day 11 First Capital Plus Premier League fixture, away to Bechem United which Kotoko won 3-1.
