Atlético Madrid fans are desperate to get a ticket for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid. The club opened at 15:00 on Monday to sell tickets for the match at the stadium box office and online, only for members, and in four hours they sold 6,000 tickets.
Tickets continue to be sold today and tomorrow exclusively for members of the club and fans have responded emphatically. Despite the heavy rain that fell on Madrid, many Atleti fans queued up at the stadium box office to get their hands on a ticket. The sale of tickets is not limited to the stadium, with online outlets also selling them.
There are still tickets left across the price ranges but there are very few of the cheaper tickets, priced at 50 euros for members and 70 for the general public.
