Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan was named the Male Sports Personality of the Year at the inaugural GN Bank Awards held last Saturday.
The Al Ain ace was handed the award in a competitive category against the likes of Andre Ayew, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Mubarak Wakaso and Abeiku Ainooson.
Others in the same category were Braimah Kamoko (Bukom Banku), Ayittey Powers and Richard Commey.
The award was taken on behalf of Asamoah Gyan by his elder brother Baffour and his manager Samuel Anim Addo.
