Ex Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson’s age might be the subject of several jokes and wise cracks in Ghana but what has never been in doubt is his undoubted ability in goal.
When he signed for Olympics in the Premier League, many thought his time was long gone and the jokes started again but with the kind of week that he has had,Kingson has proven he still has a few tricks up his sleeve.
After guiding Olympics through the round of 64 in the MTN FA Cup with two penalty saves against Dwarfs, it was the turn of Liberty Professionals to try and beat the goalkeeper fondly referred to as “Olele”.
That Liberty failed to breach Olympics’ backline was due to a master class in goalkeeping put on by the 35 year old as he organised and dived his way to a 3 points.
A one handed save deep in stoppage time had the entire stadium asking “Did he just do that?”.
Richard Kingson is AllSports player of the week.
