Vitoria Guimares star Bernard Mensah is hopeful his side is still in the running for the Europa League despite a heavy 4-1 loss to Sporting Club on Sunday.
The midfielder who has enjoyed a break through season with a series of eye catching performances for Guimares told Allsports.com.gh they have not given up on the chase.
“The loss to Sporting was a hard one for us all but we will bounce back and we are determined to qualify for European football. That is our target and we are working hard to achieve that come the end of the season.”
Mensah who has contributed with four goals and several assists this season told Allsports.com.gh his satisfaction at his own form which has attracted several suitors including Inter Milan and Valencia.
” I have been happy with my form this season though there have been hiccups like anybody else.I think I can get better and I am working hard to get better at my position.I have heard about the interests from clubs in the media but my focus is on my club right now and our push for Europe. Anything else is not up to me.”
Guimares currently lie in fifth place,seven points behind Braga .
