He said that the new flyover would help to improve commercial activities in the ancient city, adding that the Federal Government was poised to restore the lost glory of Kano as a commercial nerve centre.

According to him, the flyover will also ease traffic congestion and promote socio-economic activities between the state and other parts of the country.

Jonathan said, “This is part of my administration’s commitment toward making life easy for the people in the country.

“I am today commissioning this important edifice with great jubilation and pride.

“I won’t conclude my remarks without paying a glowing tribute to our father, the late Emir Bayero whose immense contribution made Kano what it is today”.

On the forthcoming general elections, the president said the time had come for every Nigerian to make a good choice.

He said the PDP-led government had remarkable achievements, stressing that he had almost fulfilled his mission as contained in his seven-point agenda.

In his remarks, the Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, said the completion of the bridge was a landmark achievement which would bring economic development to the state and the region.
