Ghanaian Players Abroad: Recap of the Sunday’s football action


In the English Premier League, Christian Atsu did not feature for Everton in their away game. Roberto Martinez’s side travelled to Queens Park Rangers where they won by two goals to one.

Ghanaian player Frank Acheampong lost a cup final in Belgium as his Anderlecht side took on Club Brugge in the Berker Van Belgie final.

Acheampong made a 58 minute appearance for Anderlecht replacing Marko Marin in the game.

Anderlecht lost the game by two goals to one.
Elvis Manu played the entire game for Feyenoord in the Netherlands league on Sunday. Feyenoord won the home game by two goals to one.

Daniel Amartey was in action in the Denmark League on Sunday. The Ghanaian played the full 1-1 draw for home side FC Koebenhavn against Randers FC.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom could not come off the bench in the Italian Serie A game against Napoli for his Atalanta side.

Atalanta played a one all draw away from home against Napoli.

Afriyie Acquah played in the win for his Sampdoria side against Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A.

The Ghanaian started the home game for his side but was replaced by Pedro Mba Obiang in the 52 minute. Sampdoria won the game by a single goal without reply from Eder.

Andre Ayew was on target for Olympique Marseille in the French Ligue 1 game against Lens on Sunday night.

The Ghanaian player who started the away game for French side Marseille and went on to play in the entire duration of the game scored the third of four for his side.

Marseille put on a great show in the second half of the game after a goalless first half.

Michy Batshuayi made great use of the half time team talk as he put Marseille up just a few seconds into the second half of the game.

Jacques Alaixys Romao made it 2-0 before Andre Ayew sent Olympique Marseille three goals clear off home team Lens.

Michy Batshuayi who started the scoring ended it with his second goal on the night to hand Olympique Marseille a 4-0 win over Lens.

Andre Ayew has been on great form since returning to the French league after the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars of Ghana.

The form comes at a great time for the Ghanaian with the transfer window coming up and his contract with Marseille ending at the end of this season.
