First leg: Black Queens reign 2-1 over Zimbabwe


The senior female football team,the Black Queens beat Zimbabwe 2-1 in the first leg of the 2015 All Africa Games qualifer at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Playing in front of a sparse crowd,Ghana took the lead in the first half through Agnes Aduako in the 30th minute.

Yussif Basigi’s team however struggled to add to their advantage as Zimbabwe held firm in the face of a relentless attack.

Ghana however got their just rewards in the 54th minute when Samira Suleimana added a second to give Ghana some breathing space.

Zimababwe seemed revived by Ghana’s second goal as they attacked in search of a crucial away goal and their endeavour was rewarded in the s72nd minute as Immaculate Msipa scored from a delightful free kick to make the second leg a close game.

The reverse encounter is in Harare on April 4.
