Target: Duncan urged to reach money zone with Kotoko

Asante Kotoko in their quest to restore their old glory on the African continent has urged their newly signed coach, David Duncan to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League with the team.

The 51-year-old, former Hearts of Oak coach replaced Mas-ud Didi Dramani as the coach of Kotoko, following a poor run of results for the former Black Maidens trainer.

David Duncan, who surprisingly joined ย Kotoko in their tough away CAF Champions League game in Algeria, guided them to hold El Eulma to a goalless draw.

He was unveiled by Kotoko at their secretariat on Thursday, after officially putting pen to paper to finalise a 2-year deal.

The management of the Porcupine Warriors have told Duncan to qualify the team to the CAF Champions League money zone and also do well in the Ghana Premier League.

‘Our expectation is for David Duncan to secure a CAF Champions League money zone place with us, ” Opoku Nti, the General Manager for Asante Kotoko said.

‘If we succeed doing that, then we set an improved target to reach the final and ultimately win the Cup.

‘Also for the league we want Duncan to bring Kotoko from the position where we are now to where we are noted for as champions of Ghana.

The life patron of Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has also set a similar target of excelling in the CAF Champions League for the team.

Kotoko are currently lying 14 on the Ghana Premier League with 11 points.
