Mahama embarking on nation-wrecking policy trial and error – Lloyd Amoah

Dr Lloyd Amoah
A Policy Analyst and Senior Lecturer at Ashesi University, Dr Lloyd Amoah, says President John Dramani Mahama’s tenure has been marked by ‘ political aloofness ‘, and further worsened by ‘ garrulence and fatal miscommunication ‘.

According to him, it appears President Mahama is being “ held in a vise grip by a powerful wing of the party that has locked him in a self constructed siege beyond which he cannot see .”

Whiles accusing the president of embarking on a “ nation-wrecking policy trial and error “, Dr Amaoh opined that no fourth Republican president’s term ‘ has been so pock marked by scandal, policy misdirection and sheer listlessness ‘.

He made the above remarks on his  Facebook  Wall Thursday in a performance rating of Ghana’s Presidents in the fourth republic.

Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, the Ashesi University Senior Lecturer recently courted controversy when he said the country needed a new crop of leaders for transformation and development in the next two years.

Wondering why the country had experimented with a number of development strategies, many of which were imposed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and yet remained challenged, Dr. Amoah said every Ghanaian owes it a duty to ask if the current leaders are performing well, but if the answer is no then they should vote in new ones in 2016.

“ If you lead a country you should have feeling for the people you rule over; you should feel the way they feel, but it turns out that our leaders do not have inner feelings for us…Ghana has good people; Ghana has knowledgeable people. There are people who can transform Ghana. God has blessed the people of Ghana but what is left is to organize ourselves and make up our mind to change the country. That is what is left as a country, ” he said on  Adom FM ‘s ‘ Burning Issues ‘ program in March this year.
