Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East in the Central Region, Isaac Kingsley Ehun-Armah, has resigned from his position.
Report has it that the DCE’s resignation became necessary due to his poor health. He was reportedly advised by some gurus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as some prominent chiefs in the area to relinquish his position and pay more attention to his health.
Sources disclosed that Mr Ehun-Armah has not been feeling well for some time now and that he has been seeking medical attention frequently at the hospital, a situation which prompted chiefs and some party gurus to appeal to him to take a cue from what happened to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Effutu, who died recently in a hospital at Winneba, and resign so that he could focus fully on his health.
The source revealed that his resignation letter was given to the Agona East and West District Chief Executives, who delivered it to the Regional Minister, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, in Cape Coast.
The source added that Mr Ehun-Armah was vigorously preparing his handing over notes to hand over to the regional minister till a new DCE was elected.
However, a source close to the party at the constituency hinted that the executives were searching for somebody who would be nominated to the position.
