GN Bank Division One thrills

The GN Bank sponsored national Division One league continues with match-day six action this weekend.

In Zone One, leaders Arsenal will look to keep their position on the log intact as they welcome Unity Stars to the Golden City Park, Berekum on Saturday. They will be the odds on favourites for the three points as they chase a return back to the elite division.

Berlin FC are second on the table and will seek to keep pressure on the leaders as they play at home to Atebubu Esperance at Techiman on Sunday. Wa Africa United are third and they travel to Bole to face the might of Amajande FC who are 12th on the ladder.

Fourth placed Real Tamale United will be at home in a Tamale derby against Utrecht Academy at the Tamale Stadium on Sunday with Techiman City away to Mpuasomah FC at Japekrom also on Sunday.

Tano Bofoakwa welcomes Galaxy Stars FC to the Coronation Park, Sunyani on Sunday with Guan United trekking to Bolgatanga to confront All Stars whilst Tamale All Stars host Bolgatanga Manchester City on Saturday.

Action in Zone Two starts on Saturday at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi when Asokwa Deportivo waits for the visit of table toppers Ebusua Dwarfs with all other games on Sunday.

Second placed Bibiani Gold Stars will be away to Karela FC who hosts this tie at the Essipong Stadium at Sekondi whilst bottom place Windy Professionals play next to bottom Samosa FC at Cape Coast.

In other games, Kumasi Cornerstones host third place Dunkwa United at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi; Wassaman United welcome XI Wise to Dompem; Elmina Sharks play Proud United at Elima with Starke FC hosting King Faisal at Dunkwa.

Ninth place Samartex welcome Tarkwa United to Samreboi in what is expected to be a thrilling encounter.

Matches in Zone Three begins on Friday with third place Pure Joy playing King Solomon at the Tema Stadium before leaders Real Athletico welcome Istanbul FC to the same venue a day later.

Sunday’s matches will see Dreams FC visiting Legon to face Nania FC; Danbort FC will welcome Sporting Mirren to the Nungua Town Park with Kotoku Royals welcoming D’International to the Oda Stadium.

Okwawu United host Hot Steel FC at Nkawkaw; bottom side Tema Youth visit the Nicholson Stadium at Burma Camp to confront Prestige FC with Amidaus Professionals hosting Mighty Jets at Tema.
