ABOUT 2,000 people in Kumasi have benefitted from a free health screening exercise organised by Ashh FM, a Kumasi-based radio station.
The health exercise saw the beneficiaries, including the elderly and the young, being screened in the eyes, ear, diabetes, breast cancer, typhoid, among others.
Event Manager of Ashh FM, Kofi Adjei, said his outfit wanted to help the people to live in sound health, hence the screening.
For the past six years, the station had organised several free health screen exercises to its listeners and the people of Kumasi in general.
Ashh FM, he explained, had observed that some people due to societal problems refuse to visit the hospital to check the state of their health.
Kofi Adjei mentioned that Ashh FM had, therefore, introduced the annual programme to make sure that the people know their health statuses.
He disclosed that over 500 people also used the occasion to freely donate blood to stock the KATH and Zion Praize Hospital blood banks.
Kofi Adjei commended Yaakson Herbal Centre, Stanford Eye Centre, Cancer Health Foundation and Dr Duah Mohammed of E&T Department, KATH, for making the event a success.
