It’s becoming a common occurrence these days for players to be asked to put together their ideal starting lineup.
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is the latest to get in on the fun.
In a video feature on City’s website titled ‘My Eleven‘, the Ivory Coast opted to stick with players from La Liga and the Bundesliga, with five alone coming from old side Barcelona.
Selecting a 3-5-2 formation, Toure chose Iker Casillas in goal, with a back-three comprising of Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique and Mats Hummels.
Dani Alves and Andres Iniesta line up on the wings, with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Xavi through the middle behind playmaker James Rodriguez.
The team is rounded off with a deadly partnership of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, although some will be wondering why Toure failed to select any English-based stars, not to mention one or two of his own talented team-mates.
Good luck beating that team. It’s so good, not a single member from his current club could crack the squad.
Yaya Toure’s ‘My Eleven’: (3-5-2)
Casillas (Real Madrid); Ramos (Real Madrid), Pique (Barcelona), Hummels (Borussia Dortmund); Alves (Barcelona), Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich), Xavi (Barcelona), Iniesta (Barcelona); Rodriguez (Real Madrid); Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Messi (Barcelona).
