A passionate kiss shared by Nigerian musicians Flavour and Chidinma in the music video of the song, ‘Ololufe’ has sparked rumours the two are dating.
The two travelled to South Africa together to shoot the video for the song. While admitting they have a chemistry going, Chidinma says they are just friends.
Chidinma, who rose to stardom after winning the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa reality show in 2010, disclosed she is currently dating but the man in question is not Flavour.
Speaking in an interview on Rhythmz A-Z on Joy FM Saturday with Mamavi Owusu-Aboagye, the ‘Kedike’ hit singer said she and Flavour only has a great working chemistry between them.
According to her, reports that they are dating “was pretty serious because we were on a song together before this one. My song called ‘Oh Baby’ and the chemistry was quiet huge and this [‘Ololufe’] following it made people confirm yes these guys are up to something but hey it’s just work.”
The 23-year-old revealed that Flavour is “somebody [who] makes my work easy and I enjoy working with him. He [makes] work very easy. He doesn’t stress me, I don’t stress him. It’s just fun working with him.”
The two, passionately kissing in the ‘Ololufe’ video which fueled the relationship rumours.
While many have said the kiss is evidence there is something intimate between them, Chidinma said, “It wasn’t really a kiss. I can’t really call that a kiss…me and Flavour we are just cool.”
To distance herself from the rumours, the talented singer disclosed that she has found love and her man is not a well-known figure.
“He is not in Ghana,” and he is not in the Nigerian entertainment industry, “I’ve always said that I don’t think I can date anyone in the industry,” she added.
