Crystal Palace midfielder, Hiram Boateng, has expressed the desire to turn up in international football for either Ghana or England in the next five years.
The 19-year-old left-legged holding midfielder has established himself in the Crystal Palace U.21’s side following strings of superative performances for the young Eagles in the Professional Development League 2.
He is best remembered for his Diego Maradona 86-esque wonder goal against Colchester in January after he shrugged off the challenge of five different opponents, before wrong-footing the final defender and finishing at the near post.
Now, having played 17 games and netting once, Boateng is uncertain on which country he will represent in the future.
Asked which country he would like to represent, Boateng said:
“[I can represent either England or Ghana]. This is a tricky one but i’ll have to be on the cool first and then i’ll make the decision later,” Boateng told the Cystal Palace’s Academy Spotlight show.
Boateng made his Crystal Palace first-team debut against Premier League opponents Stoke City in the FA Cup in January 2015 and did not look out of place in the slightest.
