Ghana’s U-23 national, Black Meteors are set for the trip to Mozambique ahead of their 2015 All-Africa Games qualifier against the Southern African country
The Black Meteors must overcome the Os Mambas over two legs beginning with Saturday’s first leg of the first round qualifier at the Estádio do Zimpeto.
The Ghana side have been camping fervently for not more than two months ahead and should be ready for the challenge in a bid to return to the tournament Kwesi Appiah led the Black Meteors to win in the same Mozambique in 2011.
Coach Malik Jabir and his lads are expected to be joined in Mozambique by Italy based Rahman Chibsah as Ghana take no chances even before the return leg at home on April 11.
Mozambique qualified for this stage with a 4-1 win over Uganda on penalties after their two legs ended goalless.
Now they must eliminate the defending Black Meteors champions to advance to the 2015 All Africa Games to be staged in Brazzaville, Congo September 4 to 19.
“National U23 Olympics team and Executive members travelling to Maputo ahead of 2015 Olympics qualifies against Mozambique on Saturday. We need the support of each Ghanaian to help us qualify,” New Edubiase United chief, Yakubu Abdul Salam posted on Facebook earlier today. Follow @thedonplato
