‘The Other Side Of Jonathan’, A Showcase Of Jonathan’s Achievements

Goodluck-Jonathan

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim, ministers and a group of youths, Sunday, convened in Abuja for a roundtable conference to present the “other side of President Goodluck Jonathan” to Nigerians. The conference was tagged “#GEJWinsIt: The other side of Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.”

The programme was organised to afford the speakers the opportunity of presenting to the public, the achievements of the present administration.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo promised that Nigerians would soon celebrate as far as the power sector is concerned.

“Nigerians have a lot to celebrate in the next four years. We are doing everything possible to beat the challenges that have made it impossible for us to meet our promises to Nigerians.

“In the coming years, Nigerians should prepare to celebrate. He has been under-reported and under-appreciated. When voting on March 28, say carry on to Jonathan,” Nebo told the gathering.

Also speaking, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Muhammed, said the present administration has worked hard towards making the FCT more conducive for residents.

“We want to create your Abuja in such a way that you will have a city that is for everybody as conceived by the city’s founding fathers,” the minister said.

On his part, Anyim said the vibrancy of the leading opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) was due to the deliberate policy of the present administration to entrench democracy in the country.

According to him, the President was not in any way being disturbed by those who derive pleasure in criticising his government’s policies. He claimed that the present administration gave room for opposition parties to merge to form APC.

“President Jonathan believes that strong opposition is good for our democracy. Opposition should be very grateful to Mr. President. Say whatever you want to say, it doesn’t matter, we enjoy it,” Anyim said.

He reminded the people that despite all negative comments against Jonathan, there is no political prisoner in the country.

The youths present at the gathering agreed to give Jonathan another chance. One of them was Tosin Akerele, who said being human, Jonathan cannot be said to be perfect. However, he advised the president to ensure he corrects all the wrongs of his administration when he gets re-elcted.
