Ghana’s Black Satellites lost 0-1 to Mali on Sunday afternoon and thus finished second in Group B at the ongoing 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal.
Mali captain Ichaka Diarra scored the game’s only goal in the 18ย minute against a largely disappointing Ghana side that looked lethargic on the day.
Both teams are already through to the semifinals as well as the 2015 World Youth Cup in New Zealand in May.
Mali will now face hosts Senegal, who beat Congo 4-3 to qualify, on Thursday, whilst Ghana faces record holders Nigeria on Wednesday in the semifinal matches.
In the other Group B match, South Africa thrashed Zambia 5-2 in a match of academic importance.
