Big dreams: Baba Rahman eyes UEFA Champions League

Abdul Baba Rahman is targeting a staggering qualification into next season’ UEFA Champions’ League with his club, Augsburg.

The Black Stars defender has hit the ground running in his first season with the high flying Bundesliga side, featuring consistently and has especially earned praise for his pinpoint crosses and assists.

“He is a football machine,” an Augsburg teammate told the Bundesliga Preview show.

“He is a great talent and a perfect fit for our style of play, he can add more,” said Augsburg coach, Marcus Weinzierl.

But Baba has his own explanation.
“Regarding the crosses thats our style of play and as a left back you have to move forward and assist the team in attack,” the 21 year old Ghana international said ahead of today’s Bundesliga game against Mainz.

But with his sensational side flying high in the German top flight on 38 points from 24 league games, Baba is plotting a big surprise for fans of Augsburg who currently occupy the 6th and last UEFA Europa qualifying spot in Bundesliga.

“It will be a dream come true to get into the Champions’ League. I believe in that and we are working towards that,” Baba Rahman said full of confidence. Follow @thedonplato
