Atuahene Wins Street Challenge

Godfred Atuahene of Kwadaso has been adjudged winner of the maiden Red Bull-sponsored Street Striker Challenge held at the Golden Jubilee Park in Kumasi after exhibiting qualities of a complete striker, good speed time, footworks, headers, dribbles and control.

He took home a gold medal, GH¢1,000 with products from Red Bull energy drink and Indomie Instant Noodles.

Emmanuel Hassel placed second with Appiah Gyamfi finishing third after competing in ball control, target hitting, speed and header.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic after his triumph, the 14-year-old said: “It is honour to win this and I hope to improve from here.”

The event, which was organised by 21st Century Media and Television, attracted over 90 young footballers participating with ex-Black Stars player Laryea Kingston, and radio sports presenter Bright Kankam Boadu, supervising it.

The Founder of 21st Century Media and Television, Frank Osei Karikari, in an interview said the Street Striker Challenge was initiated to help find a lasting antidote to the striking challenge of the various national teams.

The competition was sponsored by Red Bull whose representative Bismark Odoom, also expressed satisfaction at contribution of the brand in the quest to unearth future strikers for the national football teams of the country.
