Veteran actress and television presenter Grace Omaboe, popular known as Maame Dokono, has disclosed that since she joined politics in 2008, she has not been able to secure roles in movies. This, she noted, has destroyed her acting career.
Maame Dokono, who became a household name some years past, said she made good use of her season by acting and hosting so many programmes which impacted the lives of many people before participating actively in politics.
She was of the opinion that public figures should not be vilified for engaging in politics or supporting political parties openly.
The veteran actress made these comments in an interview onUTV’s ‘Entertainment News’.
She advised movie producers to go beyond personalities and pick people who cut out perfectly for roles they desire in their movies.
“In Nigeria, old men and women are given roles as old people but in Ghana we have young people playing such roles. We are all around and we don’t charge too much so they can come for our assistance,” Maame Dokono advised.
