Okyeame Quophi has thrown his weight behind his wife, Stacy Amoateng in her battle with Mzbel over the musician’s “Jesus Is Fake” comment on “Restoration” TV show.

Mzbel, who has received lots of backlash after her “Jesus Christ is Fake” declaration has accused Stacy of creating the controversy just to promote her TV show.

According to Mzbel, Stacy asked her the question because she is her friend and she knows her religious status. Mzbel says there was no way she could lie about it hence her comment that Jesus Christ story is fake.

Okyeame Quophi in an interview on Accra-based Channel R entertainment show, 205, with Christian Oppong said Mzbel is an attention seeker so Ghanaians should not be deceived.

He said Mzbel wants to create controversies just to promote her songs. He disclosed that they did not book an interview with Mzbel but the “16 Years” singer rather called to be on the show. He told Christian Oppong, host of the show on Friday that he, Okyeame Quophi wrote the questions for Stacy because he is the producer and director.

“As the director, I monitor the conversations and write follow-up questions. When a person says he believes in the Old Testament but not the New Testament, the next question that any normal human being would therefore ask is: Do you believe in Jesus Christ? and that was what happened.”

He further said that Mzbel never told the production team to edit his comment on Jesus Christ from the interview. He revealed that Mzbel’s manager, Nana Yaw asked them to edit it but Mzbel insisted it should be left hence their decision to leave it.

The former member of Akyeame group stated that before Mzbel, Nana Ama Mcbrown had been on the show so it was already popular.

Below is a video of Mzbel hitting back at critics and the host of the show for questioning her belief about Jesus Christ.
