CAF Champion League: Opoku Nti: Duncans presence has revived the spirit of Kotoko


The General Manager for Kotoko has indicated that the signing of David Duncan has lifted the spirit of his side.

Opoku Nti believes the presence of David Duncan, former Hearts of Oak coach on the bench of Kotoko is the new addition to the Ghana league champions to help turn things around.

Kotoko have gone through a lot crisis this season and ended up sacking their head coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani, following a run of poor results.

However, the clubs have signed a 2-year deal with David Duncan, one of the renowned coaches on the local scene with vast experience.

Opoku Nti has expressed that the playing body of the Porcupine Warriors are now highly motivated and it is showing in their training rudiments ahead of their CAF Champions League First League game in order to get into the good books of their newly signed coach.

‘Our players are very serious in their training and I have not seen them do this before. I think this is going be the end of our dip in performance.

‘Everybody wants to prove a point to David Duncan and I believe it will help us get a desired result against the Algerian side,’ he said.

Asante Kotoko will engage El Eulma of Algeria in the First leg of the CAF Champions League on Saturday and welcome them in the return encounter a fortnight later in Kumasi.

The Ghana champions prior to this match have gone 6 league games without a win and are lying in the relegation zone.
