Home comeback: Besiktas throw away lead as Ghanaian ace plays full game

Daniel Opare and his Besiktas side’s pursuit for the bigger prize in the UEFA Europa League hit a snag on Thursday night as they took on Club Brugge in the round of 16 of the competition.

The Turkish club who famously knocked out English Premier League side Liverpool in the last round of the competition with Ghanaian player Daniel Opare playing an integral part in the victory lost away from home in the first leg against Club Brugge.

Besiktas however managed to get an away goal in the defeat which can prove favourable in the second leg as they host Club Brugge in Turkey next week.

Gokhan Tore opened the scoring for away side Besiktas but Tom De Sutter equalized for the home side before Lior Rafaelov scored from the penalty spot to hand Club Brugge a win.

Daniel Opare played in the entire duration of the game for Besiktas without a booking.
