Ghanaian rapper Joey B who is behind the smash hit single ‘Tonga’ featuring Sarkodie has come out to say that rappers from his country Ghana are better than their counterparts in Nigeria.
Joey B made this statement on the UK radio show called Afrohits on Bang Radio London 103.6 FM.
On the radio interview Joey B said “there are a lot of Hip Hop artistes in Nigeria, I see Phyno and all of that. They are doing very good but I swear to God you cannot even touch Ghanaian Hip Hop. I swear to God you cannot touch Ghanaian Hip Hop.”
He further said “I don’t think these guys can get to our level.” Joey B went on to say that South Africans have the best rappers on the continent.
According to him the only difference between Ghanaian rappers and Nigerian rappers is in their music videos. He stated that Nigerian rappers have more funds to shoot big budget rap videos.
He also went on to say that Nigerians are the best in the Afrobeats genre even though Ghana started it.
