Best format? Argentinian side score off clever freekick routine

Tricky free kick routines often don’t turn out as clever as they seemed on the drawing board.

Argentinian side, Racing, however, got it right on Tuesday, executing a slick new free kick routine to perfection vs Peru’s Sporting Cristal in the second round of the Copa Libertadores.

Racing took the free kick indirectly, passing it to a man in the wall, who laid it off for Brian Fernandez to finish. It was pretty.

Fernandez’s first reaction was like: ‘I can’t believe that actually worked!’

Racing went on to lose the match 2-1, but they’ll always have this free kick.
