The Parliamentary Select Committee on Defense and Interior will summon the Chief of Defense Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces over a recruitment scam that has hit the military.

Four suspects have so far been arrested after Starr News uncovered the activities of a syndicate swindling prospective army recruits. It comes days after the Ghana Police interdicted its head of human resource COP Patrick Timbillah over a similar recruitment scam.

Speaking to Starr News, the ranking member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defense and Interior, Major Derrick Oduro (rtd) said the meeting with the CDS is crucial.

“The Committee will be obliged to invite the military authorities to come and brief us… We have been given a preliminary briefing by the army PRO that those involved have nothing to do with the military but are outsiders so it’s impersonation that has taken place,” Major Oduro said.
