Accra, March 11, GNA – The National Lottery Authority (NLA) Soccer-Cash, a pool-based game for football lovers which was recently made available on the market, has held its first draw in Accra.
A total of 1,661 people took part in the game and one participant had 10 out of the 12 match fixture predictions correct, thereby winning GH ¢ 5, 922.35 for the prize.
Mr Shine Gbologa, Director of Sales at NLA, said since the Soccer-Cash is a pool-based game and there was only one winner for the maiden draw, the remaining amount of GH ¢ 41, 127.30 would be available in the pool in addition to the sales to be made for this week’s fixtures.
‘This means there will be enough money to be won this week by participants after getting their match fixture predictions correct and I will urge all those who are 18 years and above to visit NLA retailer outlets across the country to participate in the game by paying just GH ¢ 1.00,’ he said.
He explained that with the Soccer-Cash game, 45 per cent of the pool would go to players who got 10 out of the 12 match fixture predictions correct, 20 per cent to the players who got 11 out of 12 match fixture predictions right and 35 per cent of the pool would go to players who got all 12 match fixture predictions correct.
Mr Gbologa said this week’s 12 match fixture predictions would involve football matches in the English Premier League, La Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation’s Cup and CAF U-20 Championship.
He said Premier League matches would involve Chelsea versus Southampton, Arsenal-West Ham United, Everton-Newcastle United, Man United- Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland-Aston Villa.
He said the La-Liga match would involve Espanyol-Atletico Madrid, French Ligue 1, Marseille-Olympic Lyon, Italian Serie A, Atlanta-Udinese and CAF Confederation Cup, Olympique Ngor- Accra Hearts of Oak,
The rest are CAF Champions League, MC Eulma- Asante Kotoko, Sundowns-TP Mazembe and CAF U-20 Championship, Ghana-Mali.
Mr Gbologa said proceeds from the Soccer-Cash game would be used to develop sports in Ghana and urged all those eligible to participate.
He said,draws for the soccer-cash would be held every Monday after all fixtures had been played at the weekend and the results would be published on the NLA website, its retailers and outlets and in the press.
