Ghana Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have secured the services of David Duncan for a two-year term, after weeks of negotiations and speculations, the club’s twitter account has revealed.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak/Ashgold head trainer replaces Mas Ud Didi Dramani, who guided the Porcupine Warriors to two successive league titles, an FA Cup and a Super Cup.
Coach Duncan was part of the 28-man contingent that left the country for Algeria yesterday for their Champions League game against MS El Eulma this Saturday.
The tough-talking coach is expected to put pen to paper on arrival from the Algerian trip, with the club having settled all outstanding fees owing the former coach.
Yesterday, Kotoko’s twitter confirmed: ‘We can also confirm that we have a pre-contract agreement with David Duncan, who has agreed a two-year deal with us.
‘Coach Duncan will be part of our contingent to Algeria in our CAF Champions League match against Eulma slated for this Saturday,’ it added.
The former Free State Stars coach, who has been dormant since he was relieved of his post at Hearts of Oak, is expected to bring his rich experience to bear on the team that is placed third from bottom on the local league log.
