The Ghanaian who had some time out from the league due to injury and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament is nine goals behind leading top scorer Mirko Vucinic of Al Jazira.
Gyan has however returned to his goal scoring ways and has netted four goals in three appearances in all competition.
The Ghana international who scored a nice curler against Al Jazeera to send Al Ain six points clear in the Arabian Gulf League said:
‘I am getting better and better and better. I felt better in the [AFC Champions League] game in Naft Tehran. I told my colleagues I am feeling better.
‘My running kilometres is improving, I am getting my fitness back. The game against Al Jazira was even better. I am getting better in each game.’
